Notice Of Valuation Form Explanation

Section 1: Type of
Property
This lists the property classifications.  Common examples would be: Residential, Non-residential Land, Non-residential Improvements, or any combination of classifications. To the far right of this box, the assessment percentage for each classification is listed.
Section 2: Prior Year
Actual Value
This box shows the values by classification as was stated in the 2006 tax roll given to the County Treasurer by the County Assessor.
Section 3: Plus or
Minus Change
This box shows the amount of change for each classification listed.  This is the difference between the current year actual value and the prior year actual value.
Section 4:  Current
Year Actual Value
This box shows the new 2007 Assessor's valuation for each classification listed.
Section 5: Protest
You have the right to protest your real property value or its classification.  A protest form is provided on the back of an original Notice of Valuation.  However, while use of the form is recommended, any documentation presented as a formal protest will be accepted during the statutory protest period (see the Appeals process page for more information).
Section 6:  Totals
This shows the sum of classification values for: Prior Year Actual Value, Plus or Minus Change, and Current Actual Value.
