Section 1: Schedule
Number
The 10 digit number that identifies the property in the Assessor's Data Base.
Section 2: Tax Year
The year the value is set, or the year preceding the Treasurer's Tax Notice.  Remember, taxes are always paid in arrears.  (2008 taxes are paid in 2009).
Section 3: Tax Area
Code
This code is based on the taxing entities that are able to levy a tax on the value of the property.  For example, tax area code DBS contains the following taxing entities:
El Paso County
EPC Road and Bridge
Widefield School District NO. 3
Security Fire Protection District
Security Sanitation District
Security Water District
Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District
Section 4: Ownership,
Property Address
This area lists the owner of record and the property address (if any) for the property.  This address may differ from the mailing address shown at the bottom of the document.
Section 5:  Legal
Description of
Property
This description defines the property location as it is stated on the deed or title.  Lot and Block along with Metes and Bounds are common examples of methods used to describe property.  Please note that the legal description on the Notice of Valuation may not be complete, due to lack of available printing space.
